Is Your Law Firm, Group or Business a New Community Fellow?

To better meet growing demands for law-related services a new recognition level was created this past year just for organizations and groups. Trustees are pleased to introduce the formation of the OBF Community Fellows program.   OBF is spreading the news about the program and asking organizations and groups to join.

The Oklahoma Bar Foundation was able to fund 30 different programs or projects last year (complete grant list) and more than 2,600 pro bono volunteers helped to enhance the benefits provided by OBF’s grant dollars.  This year OBF’s grant funding will be reduced due to the continued low interest rate environment.  As a result, fewer Oklahomans will receive the law-related services and education they need.

Many law firms, county bar associations, OBA sections, businesses and other related groups have asked how they can help the OBF.  In answer to that request and to better meet increased needs, the new OBF Community Fellows program was created for the non-individual donors.  The new benevolent program unites traditional Fellows and affiliate groups throughout Oklahoma in a common purpose – to promote justice, fund law-related services, and advance public awareness and better understanding of the law.

OBF provides funding for:  Free Legal assistance for the poor and elderly.   Safe haven for the abused.   Protection and legal assistance for children.   Other activities that improve the quality of justice for all Oklahomans.
