Oklahoma Bar Foundation Giving
Give a gift to the Oklahoma Bar Foundation to support Oklahoma nonprofits providing legal services and law related education.
Here’s how you can help:
- Partners Advancing Justice Programs – individuals can join our Partners for Justice Program and organizations & businesses can join our Community Partners for Justice Program.
- Legacy Partners – legacy gifts have designation options for funding to a particular program within the Foundation or $10,000+ gifts can be used to establish a new designated fund.
- Cy Pres Awards – left over monies from class action cases and other proceedings can be designated to the Foundation’s Court Grant Fund unless specified otherwise.
- Memorials & Tributes – make a donation in honor of someone. We will send a card to the recipient and/or their family indicating you have made a gift in their name.
- Unclaimed Trust Funds – If there are unlocated client or unclaimed funds remaining in the account, you may send a letter to the Oklahoma Bar Foundation with an explanation of the funds giving as much information as possible, including when the funds were deposited, all steps you have taken to locate the owner and whether you have held the funds for two or more years. If the Foundation accepts the funds, you may write a check to the Foundation. If the Foundation in the future receives a claim for the funds, you must verify to the Foundation in writing that the person asking for the funds is entitled to them. After verification, the Foundation will send a check payable to you or your law firm, and you can then provide the funds to your client. No interest will be paid on the original amount of the funds.
